AMS TPU Setup & Usage Notes (Important)

For best results when using TPU with this upgrade:

  • Select “TPU for AMS” in your printer settings (not the standard TPU preset). This allows the printer to handle the material more reliably through the AMS system.
  • TPU performance can vary by brand — Sunlu TPU 95A has provided the most consistent results in testing.
  • Dry your filament before use. Moisture in TPU can cause feeding issues and inconsistent behavior.

Feeding & Setup Tips:

  • Start with the feeder fully open (no tension), then slowly tighten until the filament feeds smoothly without slipping or binding during retraction.
  • Using PTFE tubing with a smaller inner diameter (2.0–2.5mm ID) is highly recommended. TPU performs best with minimal movement and reduced internal space.

Due to the flexible nature of TPU, proper setup is important to ensure smooth feeding through the AMS system.

been observed during testing.
